Great to have you here Gronagor.

We have sprites and backgrounds from the Deltamatrix release, circa 2009. We also have artwork from Hero6.com and the old forums. Unfortunately, the Internet has started to swallow much of this old data. Primarily, we'd like to centralize and preserve this work. Even if it doesn't make it into the game, the long and fallowed road of hard work should be preserved.
If anyone has any Hero6 artwork, plot work, or even code, I invite you to share it. Even old pencil sketches or notes would be helpful.

We're also interested in compiling the names of contributors for an eventual credit sequence.

Currently, we're in need of spell animations (if they exist), character animation or sprites (we have a lot, but some are missing), and backgrounds. The background images have undergone many changes and I'd like an opportunity to reincorporate older backgrounds that were dropped in the AGS conversion.

The only other art project I can think of are the class selection images. Cyst has agreed to work something up when she has time.

Please email me if you'd like something more specific to work on/contribute and welcome back!

You really should make contact with Coco. He still has everything from the old site backed-up.

Same for the credits. But he only has the information for the members on that site. None of the teams that tried to reboot.

Do you have a space for upload at this stage?

We have a git repository set up on the Sourceforge site for uploads. If you're uncomfortable using git, you can upload to the forum or you can send me a Dropbox or Google Drive link and I can transfer the files.

Right now, the unused resources are being stored on Google Drive. If you're interested in reviewing the content we've gathered, I can send you a link in a private message.

Wow. Been a long time since someone called me Delta - such fond memories.

Good to see you again Gron

Really? :) Didn't you keep your nick?

Although nothing sustainable did come from the many years we've worked as a group, it was fun. :)

Hello everyone. My name is Vasilis and I'm a software engineer from Cyprus.
I've been a long time fan of QFG ever since Hero's Quest (hipster alert :!: ) and QFG2 still stands as one of my favorite games of all time.

I was really excited to see Hero6 rise from the ashes and I thought to my self "why don't you put your programming skills where your mouth is? And get some chewing gum, your mouth stinks :? ". So, I hope I'll be able to contribute in making Hero6 a reality.
Spoiler alert: I doubt I'll be able to do much since I have a full time job, 2 kids, limited free time and absolutely zero experience with AGS, but you never know, miracles can happen...

Great to have you on board Vasilis! If you visit the Sourceforge page, we have several simple tickets available for coders. Right now we need a lot of code scrubbing to meet our current development standard.
If you're interested in something more complicated, ChamberOfFeaf and I are usually on the IRC channel. Drop by and we can discuss what you have in mind. The channel is #Hero6 at IRC.Hero6.org:6667

Hello, everyone!

I'm Will. A university student, field archaeologist, artist, and occasional voice actor from Ohio.

I'm glad to see that this project has been revived. I was never involved in the old developments; by the time I had learned of it, it already appeared to be well underway, and the project didn't appear to need someone of my expertise at that point. Sadly, when I checked back, it seemed that it had lost most of its momentum.

I got my introduction to this wonderful series in the form of Hero's Quest. Even beyond my brothers and I playing the various sequels, the series actually became a somewhat important part of my childhood, home life, and through our friends, my entire neighbourhood and beyond. I kid you not. Quest for Glory played a central role in my formative years.

I'd love to contribute to this project any way I can. As I mentioned, I moonlight as an occasional voice actor, so I would be happy to lend my skills there when the time comes. I would primarily be suited to narration work, but I'm quite capable of a range of character voices as well.

I'm also an artist. I'm admittedly not overly familiar with a lot of the CG programs used nowadays, though that might actually be to your benefit in the case of a game such as this. I'm fairly certain I could contribute some sprites and animations. I'm primarily a traditional visual artist though (sculptor)... Which, actually, I can think of as possibly being applicable in some ways to this project as well.

Please, let me know what you're in need of. I'm eager to devote my time, such as it is, and any possible talents I have to helping this project become a success, especially given the role that QFG and the Coles had in my life. Glad to see that progress is being made, and that Hero6 lives again!

Welcome!
We definitely have an interest in voice actors, but that won't occur until later in development. However, we do have a more immediate need for artists. Our game design has progressed from storyline/plot into proper quest layout. As we set the finer details of these quests/miniquests, our art requirements increase. If you're interested in contributing, I can get you access to our source materials. If you have samples of your work that you'd like to submit, you can post them in the forum or email me at hero6lives@gmail.com.
Good to have you aboard!

Thank you, Robert!
The resource files would be fantastic. I'd also love to know what programs you guys are using for both art and scripting, to ease any cooperative efforts. I'm assuming you're using AGS for compiling the game, no?

I can do a demo reel of my voice acting anytime you wish. I don't have much in the way of art samples anymore, as it's been years since I've worked on any video game art. However, I have included an old screenshot of a sprite masking test (a la my reinterpretation of a scene from QFG1), and my version of the main ego sprite of the hero when I saw a few screenshots. Just to give you an idea. They're a bit more rendered than the one's I've seen here, but I can of course match the existing style, or up-render any existing sprites. Either or. I also took the liberty of tooling around to create a few of the sprites you need to indicate the hero is tired, and going to sleep.
